Pangani

Pangani is on the mainland coast, 50 kilometers (31 miles) south of the town of Tanga. It was once an important Swahili trading post, but today it is a slow-paced, sleepy village, surrounded by endless, almost deserted beaches. Small lodges have recently opened around Pangani to cater to the few visitors who come here in search of sea, relaxation, and tranquillity in a place that is still not crowded.

Pangani is about four or five hours drive from Dar es Salaam and about six to seven hours from Arusha. Recently Coastal Aviation airline has introduced flights connecting Pangani to Arusha and Dar es Salaam.
