Western Kilimanjaro

The region west of Kilimanjaro, dominated by the highest peak in AfricaThe region west of Kilimanjaro, dominated by the highest peak in Africa, is a large area of open savannahs and acacia forests of acacias which is the extension of the ecosystem of Kenya’s Amboseli Park.

We’re very fond of this area, not only for the landscapes but also for the large herds of elephants and the many animals that live there, and above all because there is authentic interaction with the Maasai, given that we’re away from the busiest areas.

Since Kilimanjaro airport is fairly close, this is a pleasant stop that can be included at the beginning or the end of the northern circuit.
